Founded in San Diego, California in 2007, Sesh is the realization of a dream by its founder and design engineer, Jarrod Rogers, to bring real-time group web browsing to internet users. More people were using the web than ever, but it was still primarily a solitary activity. He wanted to eliminate the frustrating and time-consuming practice of emailing links back and forth between friends to see the same webpage. The overarching goal was to enable people to surf the web together just like shopping at the mall together, a simple goal in a challenging technical environment.

Finding the right name to fit this new activity took some thought. As a software engineer and surfer living in California, Jarrod was familiar with the term surf sesh, an impromptu gathering of surfing friends. 'Sesh' fit perfectly because it's derived from the word 'session', a period of time spent in a group activity.

Friend and attorney, Dan Hattis, himself a former entrepreneur, instantly recognized the innovation and value this would bring to the marketplace. Dan joined with Jarrod to create Sesh, Inc. and Sesh.com. Patents are pending for new inventions contained in our SaaS (Software-as-a-Service).

Evencia Leite, a long-time associate, immediately recognized Sesh's potential to be a 'must have' for e-commerce businesses. Offering retail and marketing expertise, she came on board eager to bring the revolutionary Sesh technology to the vast internet market.

Our initial direction was to create a solution that enabled call service agents to meet with customers instantly on the webpage they were viewing and in the exact location on the page. This innovation would improve the efficiency and productivity of customer service in a manner never seen before.

As online needs evolved, Sesh shifted its focus. Sesh innovated a method of monetizing social network traffic that all e-commerce businesses could embrace. Sesh empowered retailers to drive social network users directly to their sites, get them shopping together, encouraging them to remain on their site longer and spend more money. In addition, the marriage of Sesh and Facebook with our application, Shop with Friends, equips retailers with the means to create viral marketing campaigns, broadening their reach exponentially.
